Political tensions in the Middle East continue as Hezbollah on Sunday fired at least a dozen Katyusha rockets into northern Israel. According to news agency AFP, the Iran-backed group said the attack was in response to Israel’s attacks on Kfar Kela and Deir Siriane in Lebanon.
Several visuals of a barrage of missiles being fired at Israel emerged on social media, sparking a discussion on social media. In a video shared by an X user SL Kanthan, Israel’s Iron Dome system can be seen trying to intercept the missiles.
Watch here:
I am not impressed by Hezbollah’s rockets so far. It’s like a mosquito bite compared to Israel’s total devastation of Gaza.
Iran’s drone/missile attacks in April did not demonstrate any capability to cause serious harm either.

Reacting to the visuals, a user wrote, “Rockets launched from Hezballah occupied territory in Lebanon. The vast majority of Lebanese do not want war.” Another user commented, “Trust me it is a strategic move to locate the Iron Dome and coordinate.”
“Looks like the ground intercepted a couple of them,” a third user reacted.
After the killing of Haniyeh in Tehran, Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei had warned of “harsh punishment.” In April, Iran had fired more than 300 missiles and drones at Israel. The attack had hit their air base in the south.
According to a New York Times report, Israeli officials have urged residents to prepare food and water in safe rooms and paramedics have conducted an emergency drill to practice in case of a full-scale war.
