At least six persons have been injured after 10 coaches of the Mumbai-Howrah Mail derailed near Chakradharpur in Jharkhand early Tuesday.
The accident occurred at 3.45 am near Badabamboo, between Rajkharswan West Outer and Barabamboo in Chakradharpur division of the South Eastern Railway.
“Ten to twelve coaches of the Train No. 12810 Mumbai-Howrah Mail derailed near Badabamboo. Six passengers were injured in the accident,” a senior SER official said.
The Mumbai-Howrah Mail and a freight train were involved in the accident and the rescue operation is currently underway, as per the official.
The injured persons were given medical attention in Badabamboo before being taken to Chakradharpur for further treatment, the official added.
