The chip is paired with 24GB LPDDR5X RAM, which runs at 7500MT/s, along with a 1TB M.2 NVMe Gen4 SSD, which is expandable up to 4 TB.

Asus has also upgraded the cooling system by including an upgraded Zero Gravity thermal system and a third air vent for extra airflow, which will help the console run up to 8 degrees cooler, aiding in sustaining the performance while continuing gaming.

As the ROG Ally X also has a repositioned microSD card slot, it should not suffer from issues like the ROG Ally, where some users reported the burning of microSD cards due to excess heat.

An 80Wh 4-cell Li-ion battery powers the ROG Ally X, which according to the company can deliver double the battery life compared to the original ROG Ally.
