Hundreds of fans dressed in traditional costumes carrying posters of the actor reached Ekdaliya Evergreen Park in the afternoon for an hour-long yagya.

Ever since the news of Big B’s health problems broke, his fans, who have also built a temple for him in South Kolkata, have been very worried.

“We have been praying for his health and well-being since then and are constantly monitoring media reports on his health,” Banerjee said.

Another of his fans attributed his medical condition to the “workaholic nature” of the actor.

“He has given hits throughout his career and his body needs rest at this age of life,” said 32-year-old Gautam Basak.

On February 11, Bachchan, 69, underwent abdominal surgery, but after complaining of severe pain, he had to stay in the hospital.

At present, the health of Big B, who is currently undergoing treatment at Seven Hills Hospital, is said to be improving.
