A video of Lionel Messi in tears after being substituted due to an injury during Monday’s Copa America final between Argentina and Colombia has caught the internet’s attention. The Argentina captain had to leave the game after he sustained an injury after chasing the ball on defence.
Messi had injured his right leg in the first half. Before the half-time whistle, the star player chased the ball and attempted to kick it before it went out of his control. His right leg landed awkwardly, reports said. The viral video shows Messi covering his face on the Argentina bench and crying even as fans cheered for him.

Argentina defeated Colombia 1-0 in the Copa America 2024 final in Miami. Emiliano Martinez received the Best Goalkeeper Award while Lautaro got the top-scorer trophy.
