CONCERNED OVER delay in some ministerial work as the department officials were dealing with “tension”, Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal asked Law Secretary Rajeev Mani to identify a team of officials who could counsel those dealing with such problems.
Keeping the mental wellbeing of those working in ministry in mind, a motivational talk on happiness was organised for the Department of Legal Affairs on Monday. It is learnt that similar sessions would be held for the other two departments — legislative and justice — in the Ministry as well.
Vocal For ‘Local’
The state executive committee meeting of Uttarakhand BJP in Dehradun on Monday saw the presence of over 1,350 leaders, almost three times the usual number of participants in such meetings.
Even the Uttar Pradesh BJP executive committee meeting in Lucknow on Sunday was attended by around 2,700 people, almost five times the regular number. Sources said after the BJP’s Lok Sabha setback in UP, the party is holding “extended state executive meetings” and inviting leaders from district units, which was not the case earlier.
The sources said the move was aimed at boosting the morale of party workers and giving them a sense of respect by inviting them to meetings addressed by senior leaders. In Uttarakhand, leaders from mandal, a smaller organisational unit in districts, were also invited to the BJP meet.
Break In Tea Breaks

The Ministry of External Affairs has issued Office Decorum & Dress Code instructions to its officials, including regular officials, outsourced and other contractual employees. According to the instructions, the officials cannot take “frequent” tea breaks.
“Many of the officials have been found taking frequent and long tea breaks and even going out of the office building in groups during office hours. This must be avoided,” read the instructions. The instructions also state that the officials and staff must behave with dignity and decorum in office corridors and lifts. They should show respect to the senior officers and give way for their movement, it states.
