OnePlus Open 2: Design

Since leaked renders of the OnePlus Open 2 are yet to surface online, we don’t have much idea on what the upcoming phone will look like, But since the OnePlus 12 uses the same design language as its predecessor, rumour has it that the OnePlus Open 2 will retain its predecessor’s design with some changes to the camera island.

With Samsung officially bringing IP48 water and dust resistance to the Galaxy Z Fold 6, OnePlus’ next-generation foldable will likely offer similar or better dust protection.

OnePlus Open 2: Specs

While there is no news on the hardware specifications of the phone, the OnePlus Open 2 will most likely be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 or the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, if the company launches it next year.

Known tipster Digital Chat Station recently posted on Weibo that the Oppo Find N5 will pack a 6,000mAh battery. For those not in the loop, the OnePlus Open is a rebranded version of the China-exclusive Oppo Find N3. If true, this will be a huge upgrade over the current version, which packs a 4,850mAh battery. We hope OnePlus also brings wireless charging to the OnePlus Open 2, something which is missing on the OnePlus Open.

OnePlus Open 2: Software

The OnePlus Open 2 will most likely run on OxygenOS 15 based on Android 15 out of the box. While not much is known about what the update will offer in terms of features, we expect to see a bunch of AI features that are currently available on the latest OnePlus and Oppo devices.

OnePlus Open 2: Price

If OnePlus chooses to go with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the OnePlus Open 2 may not see a significant price hike, but if the smartphone maker opts for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset, you might have to shell out a lot more since multiple tipsters have suggested in the last few months that the upcoming chipset maybe 30 per cent more expensive than the current one.
